20-21 MAR 2026 — Ash2Soil 🔥💧🌱 Free Regeneration Workshops in Central Portugal
🌄 This spring, we’re kicking off Ash2Soil, a year-long collaborative project with one goal:
inspiring communities to transform fire-affected landscapes into resilient ecosystems.
Project Summary
- Four seasonal community gatherings, bringing together science, field practice, culture, and art to transform fire-affected landscapes into resilient ecosystems.
- For anyone seeking to broaden knowledge and skills for the co-creation of lush ecosystems that prevent fire, mitigate floods, and build both natural and social resilience
- No experience required; all you need to bring is an open heart and mind—be welcome!
What will participation bring you?
- A shift in mindset —busting myths that can keep us stuck in (invisible) degradation loops, and embodying natural, abundance-increasing patterns.
- Micro-level understanding — getting to grips with the elemental importance of a living soil food web.
- Adaptive knowledge and practical skills — mitigating drought–flood–fire risks, working for water, (inter)planting, mulching, irrigating and managing.
- Empowerment and connection — because no one is as smart as everyone, and together we’re much better at being the change we wish to see.
1st Spring Event — Awakening the Soil
21st & 22nd of March 2026

🌳 An introduction to Syntropic Agroforestry, with hands-on practice, planting food trees, resistant shrubs, and ground cover.
🪵 Hands-on practice building a water retention structure — a ‘beaver dam analogue’ — to stop erosion in a burned pine forest and recharge the underground aquifer.
🎨 Artistic expression through monotype printing, with the aim of embodying the transformation of landscapes.
